The purpose of my app smash was to give my students an
example of the problem and then assign them a task involving technology. I
teach special education students with learning disabilities at a Title I
school. Math is sometimes a subject students can get no help with at home, but
is also a subject that takes lots of practice. If the students have videos of
me explaining the work, they may be more apt to try the practice problems for
homework and attempt the assignment at hand. Writing notes down in class as I
work the problem is no help if you get home and can’t remember the steps I took
to get those numbers.
